At Adaptive Holy Yoga, we believe that Jesus’ love is for everyone and that Holy Yoga is also for everyone, despite any type of disability, injury, chronic illness or other special need.
Adaptive Holy Yoga training is designed for both certified yoga teachers and those who want to learn how to teach students with various physical, developmental or mental disabilities or illness, or other special needs. In this 50-hour program, trainees will learn about a range of disabling conditions and how to adapt poses and classes to meet students’ physical, emotional and spiritual needs. The intention for the Adaptive Holy Yoga training is to inform and equip you to teach this population with confidence and love. In scripture, Jesus approached these individuals without reservation and He treated them with dignity, respect, honor and care. With Him as our model, we will learn how to bring the practice of Holy Yoga in the same manner.
This training includes Chair/Senior Holy Yoga Training and occurs as an 8-week home study program, which includes weekly webinar meetings, instructional videos, individual journaling, practice with the material presented, required reading, community participation and a student teaching practicum. Our next training will take place in the fall of 2017.
