Administrative Support Specialist
Shannon Copeland grew up as a dancer, studying ballet, tap, classical jazz, and modern. Movement was always a way of expression and release. Time in the studio was where she felt the most free and at peace. As time went on and additional roles of wife and mom were added, movement naturally took a backseat.
As life usually goes, stress, trauma, and lack of self-care started to impact her mind, body, and soul. She returned to movement, but this time in the form of yoga. The restorative practice allowed her to set time apart and Be Still, something she is not usually good at. Time on her mat became a sacred experience. She felt led to pursue more opportunities where her faith and yoga could intersect.
Shannon got her 200-hour training with Holy Yoga in 2020, right before the pandemic. She offered online classes to friends and family as a way for many to deal with the physical, emotional, and spiritual toll of that time. In her time of meditation and prayer, she felt the Lord say, “Bring them to me so I can heal them.” She continues to take steps and discern what that could look like.
In Shannon’s professional career, she has found herself in various roles in the non-profit sector, from an Event Coordinator and Program Manager at a Chicago-based non-profit to the Director of Children and Family Ministries at her church, to most recently, the Office Manager at her kids’ elementary school. Shannon lives her life following the Lord’s promptings on her “next” assignment, offering her administrative skills and pursuit to love people well, and truly see them. She had a brief stint on staff at Holy Yoga back in 2019 and is very happy to be back and serve this amazing community.
