Hey, my favorite people! Merry, merry Christmas!
I just exhaled when I wrote that. Like “Oh my gosh, I’ve been wearing my shoulders as earrings for the last 4 hours” kind of exhale. Can anyone relate? I am so grateful for all you who feel the the Presence in breath like I do.
As I was considering Advent, I was drawn to the fact that, the Spirit in a man, the breath of the Almighty, gives man His understanding. The Spirit doesn’t just illuminate man’s understanding from a human perspective, but He imparts the understanding of God directly into man through the breath of the Almighty. Isn’t that cool? Every breath we breathe (every single one without exception) has the capacity to impart to man the essence of God.
Take that in for a moment. Like take a big deep inhale and a fully willing exhale.
I wonder if this is what God means (at least in part) when He declares, “I am God and I am with you. I am Emanuel. I am the One who came and will continue to come with every cycle of breath you ever breathe.” He says, “I will never leave you or forsake you, and I will make known to you the ways of the Spirit and the Truth in your inner man to the confirmation of my love.”
In my practice I’ve been inviting the idea that every breath represents the coming of God not just to me but within me. My waiting on the next inhale has me waiting for the next dose of grace meant only to propel Me forward one tethered breath at a time. Waiting for God within me has me exactly where I need to be . . . deeply dependent and joyfully expectant.
I hope you find space to breathe this season. Don’t miss His coming. It’s for every single moment. Can’t wait to see what 2019 has for this family of Holy Yoga! It’s bound to be delicious!
Love you like He does,
Brooke
