What is Somatic?
Somatic practices focus on the body’s sensations and movements, helping individuals reconnect with their physical selves and understand how emotions, trauma, and stress manifest in the body. In somatic yoga, you bring awareness to the sensations each pose creates, using movement to release tension, promote flexibility, and support overall well-being. By incorporating somatic techniques, you can regulate the nervous system, enhance emotional health, and foster a deeper mind-body connection.

Throughout this course, you will explore the history and philosophy behind somatic practices, including their connection to scripture and spiritual principles. Through somatic awareness, you’ll deepen your relationship with Christ by bringing mindfulness and sacred presence to each movement and breath. Jesus invites us to come to Him for rest (Matthew 11:28), and through somatic practices, you can experience that rest in your body and spirit.

You’ll learn how to cue somatic directives to deepen poses, regulate the nervous system, and increase mindfulness.
