There are moments in life that ask us to pause—moments that are too sacred, too meaningful to rush past. Holy Week is one of those moments.
In a world that moves quickly and constantly demands our attention, Holy Week invites us into something entirely different. It is not a holiday to simply observe—it is a journey to enter. From the celebration of Palm Sunday to the sorrow of Good Friday and the joy of Easter morning, this week holds the full spectrum of the human and divine experience: praise, betrayal, grief, surrender, and resurrection.
But to truly experience it, we have to be willing to slow down.

Holy Week marks the final days of Jesus’ life on earth—His arrival in Jerusalem, the Last Supper with His disciples, His suffering and crucifixion, and ultimately, His resurrection. These are not just historical moments; they are deeply personal invitations.
Each day carries its own rhythm and reflection:
Too often, we skip from celebration to celebration—from Palm Sunday straight to Easter—without allowing ourselves to sit in the tension, the sorrow, and the silence in between. But it’s in those spaces that transformation happens.
We live in a culture that resists stillness. We fill our days with noise, distraction, and endless to-do lists. Holy Week gently disrupts that pattern. It asks us to be present. To feel. To reflect.
Slowing down during Holy Week isn’t about doing less for the sake of it—it’s about making room for what matters most.
When we pause, we begin to notice:
We move from simply knowing the story… to experiencing it.
At Holy Yoga, we believe faith is not just something we think about—it’s something we live and embody.
Holy Week becomes even more meaningful when we engage not just our minds, but our entire being—spirit, soul, and body. Through prayer, Scripture, breath, and gentle movement, we create space to connect more deeply with Jesus’ journey.
Movement becomes prayer.
Breath becomes awareness.
Stillness becomes sacred.
This isn’t about performance or perfection—it’s about presence.
As we stretch, rest, and reflect, we begin to release what we’ve been carrying—stress, distraction, heaviness—and open ourselves to something new. Something deeper. Something transformative.

Holy Week is not just about remembering what Jesus did—it’s about allowing His story to shape ours.
It invites us to ask:
These are not easy questions. But they are powerful ones.
Because resurrection doesn’t come without surrender.
And new life doesn’t come without letting go.
When we fully engage Holy Week, we don’t leave it unchanged. We carry Easter differently. We understand grace more deeply. We walk forward with renewed hearts.
If you’ve ever felt unsure how to meaningfully observe Holy Week, you’re not alone. Many people want to go deeper but don’t know where to begin.
That’s why we created the FREE 2026 Holy Yoga Prayer Journal.

Working at a residential facility for young girls and women dealing with life’s struggles as the Exercise and Nutrition Manager, Janelle quickly realized how yoga could be an essential tool in their healing process. However it wasn’t until 2017, where yoga played a crucial role in her own personal healing after hitting “rock bottom.” Having personally experienced the healing power of yoga in her own life, Janelle felt inspired to enroll in the Spring 2019 200-HR Yoga Teacher Training Cohort with Holy Yoga, and empower others through this journey we call life with Jesus on and off the mat. Janelle received her M.S. in Exercise and Nutrition Science, a certified Health Coach,RYT-200, completing her C-HYI 500 in the Fall, C-HYI Trauma Sensitive, C-HYI Leadership, C-HYI Yoga with Weights and Owner of Namaste In Love Yoga Studio. When Janelle is not working or in the studio, you can catch her spending time with her 3 month old daughter, shopping with her sister or spending time with her husband of 2 years.
