The Holy Yoga Core Team

Allison La Bianca

Outreach Director & Global Regional Director

Allison La Bianca

International missions was something Allison La Bianca was introduced to in college. During her first short term experience in South Africa she knew God had given her a desire to live overseas. After a few years of teaching elementary school, she packed her bags and moved to Uganda where she spent 2 1/2 years diving into a new culture and world view and building deep relationships that would forever change her. The teenagers she shared life with went through severe trauma as child soldiers and had difficulty putting words to their experiences. Through this, Allison realized how powerful Holy Yoga could be for their healing process.

Immediately after returning from Uganda in 2013, Allison signed up for Holy Yoga teacher training. Since attending her first Holy Yoga class in 2009, she experienced a deep connection to the Lord through this holistic form of worship and wanted to invite others in. She also knew that God had given her a heart to see the broken and oppressed of all nations find lasting healing and freedom. The Lord in his goodness made a way to bring these together through Holy Yoga International Missions.

Allison is a Master Holy Yoga instructor and is trained in Trauma Sensitive Holy Yoga. She currently lives in Pasadena, CA and she teaches in the Los Angeles area.

Brooke Toftoy

Community Development Director

Brooke Toftoy

Brooke was introduced to yoga in 2004 by her dad, during a transition between cities and jobs. They took private Ashtanga yoga classes together, and Brooke fell in love with the practice. After years of being disconnected from her body, struggling with an eating disorder and over exercising, yoga allowed her to reconnect. Slowly, she breathed, and moved, and prayed into a healing space. After wondering (and googling) if anyone else brought their Christian spiritual practices onto their mats, she found Holy Yoga. In 2009 she went through Holy Yoga Instructor Training, and started teaching in 2010, and continues to teach weekly. She has continued to grow through Blooma’s prenatal training, Holy Yoga’s T3 Leadership Training, Holy Yoga Therapy Program, & Holy Yoga Masters. The Holy Yoga community has been an incredible blessing to Brooke, and her desire is that all Holy Yogis would know and experience what family in Christ can be. She’s honored to serve on the Core Team as the Director of Community Development.

Brooke spent 10 years working in full time ministry with high school and young adults at the church where she met the Lord as a teenager. A voracious learner, she finished her Masters at Fuller Theological Seminary in 2014. She is a connector, loves getting to know people, helping people plug into meaningful community, being a prayerful and listening presence, and empowering people to lead and minister wherever they are.

Brooke lives in blustery, beautiful Minneapolis with her husband Jon & their two sons, Thor and Haaken.

Katie Pearson

Executive Leadership Director

Katie Pearson

When God brought Holy Yoga into Katie’s life in June 2011, He answered her life-long prayer to work in ministry while allowing her to use the gifts and skills she had developed through her career in yoga and fitness. Katie has been a Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor through ACE, as well as an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) through Yoga Alliance, and Master Holy Yoga Instructor (M-HYI) through Holy Yoga. She has owned her own yoga studio, been featured in numerous yoga DVDs and written nationally-recognized programs and publications. Katie worked as a Master Trainer for YogaFit for 10 years before joining Holy Yoga, where she serves on the Core Team as the Executive Leadership Director.

Katie’s life and work have been transformed by her experience at Holy Yoga, where she has renewed and redefined her relationship with the Triune God and His Word. She feels deeply indebted to her family and friends for their support of her passion for yoga and ministry, and to God for His grace in equipping her daily to walk in the light. Out of this grace she desires to help others experience Christ’s love and healing power for themselves through the ancient and essential practices of combining God’s Word with both movement and stillness.

Katie lives in California, with her husband Kevin and two daughters, Key and Taylor.

Sara Kosobud

Financial Director

Sara Kosobud

Sara was introduced to Holy Yoga while living in Phoenix, Arizona for more than ten years. Amazingly, Brooke Boon walked into her life and so did Holy Yoga. Sara’s lifestyle is complete health and fitness. “Adding Jesus was, and is, the icing on the cake. After attending my first Holy Yoga class, I was so moved. I went home with a sense of peace and a strong desire to be a better wife, mother, sister, friend, and daughter. I couldn’t believe this ‘yoga’ class could have that much impact. Being a part of Holy Yoga has brought Christ deeper into my life. I find it very rewarding and endlessly fascinating to be a part of a strong team that helps bring people closer to a more Christ-driven life. I am truly blessed to be able to take my gifts in finance and accounting and bring them to Holy Yoga in order to assist in the growth of this life changing ministry.”

Sara now lives in Minnesota with her family: her husband John, and their two children, Carson and Kate. Sara’s extensive background in finance and accounting has been a great asset to Holy Yoga. “Working in the corporate world was what I thought I was meant to do.  It brought home the money.  But something was always missing.  It was Jesus,” says Sara.

Sara joined the Holy Yoga family in 2009 and serves as the Director of Finance and sits on the Board of Directors for the Holy Yoga Foundation.

The Holy Yoga Support Staff

Sarah Hall

Instructor Training Director

Sarah Hall

Sarah found Holy Yoga in 2007 after feeling Jesus meet her on the mat in deep and meaningful ways. She wanted to share it with everyone. She looked into the Holy Yoga Instructor program at that time, but was led to wait. By His clear provisions Sarah became Holy Yoga certified in 2009. She continued on with Holy Yoga, receiving her Masters Certification in 2010. She has also had the pleasure of jumping into leadership training and joining the Leadership team. In 2015 Sarah joined the Holy Yoga staff as an Enrollment Specialist. She transitioned to become Instructor Training Director and 95-hour Instructor Liaison, which are her current roles. All of her roles with Holy Yoga have allowed her to combine her love of Jesus, community, yoga and teaching to offer all of her story to lead more people into His healing love.

Sarah continues to grow alongside this family and is excited to watch all God continues to do. Sarah is married to Charlie Hall and this gift has graced her with a total of four children and a redemption story that shines bright.

Mia Neuenhoff

Teacher Trainer

Mia Neuenhoff

Mia Neuenhoff began a serious yoga practice in 2006 and signed up for Holy Yoga Teacher Training in 2011, having never taken a Holy Yoga class. Her background was home construction and interior design, but God was prompting her in a new direction. He opened doors and pressed her through. Eventually, Mia opened a small Holy Yoga studio which led directly to her current position: managing a 70+ class per week studio with over 600 members. She also launched and was director of the studio’s teacher training program for several years.

With over 1000 hours of training, Mia received her Holy Yoga Master training in 2012.  She also has certifications in Holy Yoga Touch and Holy Yoga Chair. Holy Yoga ushered in a depth to her relationship with God she did not know was possible. She is drawn to those bruised by religion and knows God led her to a secular studio to share His love and healing with those who feel safer on a mat than in a pew. She currently teaches Holy Yoga in College Station, Texas, and assists in the Holy Yoga Teacher Training program.

Kristin Gibowicz

Teacher Trainer

Kristin Gibowicz

Kristin serves on the Holy Yoga Teacher Training team and brings over 14 years of experience teaching, training and managing teachers for CorePower Yoga.  Kristin’s yoga journey began as she sought healing from back surgery on her lumbar spine.  After years of frustration with pain, it was love at first “namaste.” Her upbringing and life experiences were rich in cultural diversity, and she struggled finding church community in her adult life because she felt so different. In 2012, Kristin’s friend asked her to teach faith-based yoga classes for a Faith & Fitness women’s retreat in Estes Park, CO.  While teaching that first Christ-centered yoga class, she was overcome by Jesus’ invitation in Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”  Knowing that yoga translates to yoke, Kristin knew in her heart that God wanted to integrate and reconcile all aspects of her life: heart, soul, mind and strength. Shortly thereafter, she stepped into Holy Yoga’s 95-hour training and committed to growing in the fullness that God has for her and all of His children.

Kristin currently lives in Parker, CO with her husband Craig and three girls.  She teaches at CorePower Yoga, organizes quarterly Yoga for Cause special event classes to raise funds for non-profit organizations, co-leads Soul Fitness Colorado women’s retreats, and teaches classes in her home studio and online for Yogadownload.com. She is thrilled to share her passions and continue to grow alongside the amazing people that make up the Holy Yoga family.

Sue Bidstrup

Enrollment Specialist

Sue Bidstrup

Sue found yoga after she had been held up at gunpoint and was experiencing panic attacks. A wise doctor taught her yogic breath and suggested she practice yoga. The practice helped her find calm and peace, and became a passion for her. She had been practicing for about six years when she found Holy Yoga in 2012, and it was the perfect fit!

She went through the training before she ever attended a Holy Yoga class.  On retreat, God met her on her mat in a profound way! It was a new beginning in her faith walk.  Her favorite thing about teaching is hearing stories from others about how they have experienced a fresh encounter with God through Holy Yoga!

Sue is currently blessed to serve as an Enrollment Specialist, a role that gives her the opportunity to genuinely connect and pray with with people as they embark on their Holy Yoga journey.  She enjoys encouraging others to follow their unique path.

Sue has continued to learn and grow within the ministry.  She has taken the Leadership Development, Masters, Kids, and Trauma Sensitive trainings. She is passionate about sharing Holy Yoga with others who have experienced trauma, and currently offers Holy Yoga at a therapeutic ranch for survivors of sex trafficking (ages 11-17).

Sue lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and three kids.

Todd Twyman

Men's Ministry Director

Todd Twyman

Todd Twyman came to yoga as a competitive runner.  He found Holy Yoga in 2009 through a Facebook post by a runner friend. Todd attended a class and fell in love with the idea that he could marry his faith with fitness. Jesus At The Core came to Minneapolis soon after and Todd felt God very clearly put it on his heart to begin training as a Holy Yoga instructor. He began Holy Yoga Instructor training fall of 2011 and currently teaches two classes each week.

Todd graduated from St Cloud State University with a degree in physical education and coaching. Fitness and faith have always been a large part of Todd’s life.  He found that it was possible to merge both and use fitness, running and yoga to bring peace and God’s love to others.

In addition to teaching Holy Yoga classes each week, Todd’s role in the ministry is to let men know that yoga, and specifically Holy Yoga, is for them too.  He works to support men in training to become instructors, and support and form community among the men who are already Holy Yoga instructors.

Todd is a Master Holy Yoga instructor and has completed other certifications through Holy Yoga.  He loves learning more about yoga and deepening his walk with God. Todd lives in Richfield, Minnesota (a suburb of Minneapolis).  He is married to Karen and has two grown children and one granddaughter.

Tasha Anderson

Social Media Director

Tasha Anderson

With a background in dance, yoga came naturally to Tasha. Her yoga journey began in 1996 in Ojai, CA. Tasha worked as a children’s ministry director and also as a group fitness instructor, leading Christ-centered boot camp classes. She found Holy Yoga in 2011.

Tasha resides in Orange County, California. She has been married for 20 years and has three children. In addition to Holy Yoga, she teaches secular yoga and feels that is her ministry. She loves paddle boarding, spending time with her family at the beach, and plenty of silly, belly-laughing, girlfriend time.

Tasha is the Social Media Director for Holy Yoga and a member of the Leadership team.  In addition, she is a Master Instructor and holds certifications in Holy Yoga Touch, Therapy, and Weights.

Tasha is passionate about equipping and encouraging women to fully live out their giftings. Her favorite quote is, “I’m just a beggar, trying to show other beggars where to find bread.”

Amy Hoyte

Shop Director & Financial Assistant

Amy Hoyte

Amy Hoyte owns and runs a yoga ministry, Beautifully Made Holy Yoga, and is grateful that God has blessed her with the vehicle of Holy Yoga to live out her mission – to encourage women to confidently live in the freedom which is theirs because of Jesus’ sacrifice.  She is filled with energy when she gets to remind women to live in their original design, exactly as God created them.  She seeks to receive and radiate His perfect love, and to encourage others to do the same, no matter the season or journey.  The TRUTH is He’s not done, it’s not finished for any of us.  Our protective Father is fighting for us.  He just asks that we come away with Him to listen as He remind us of His love for us!

Amy is a Master Holy Yoga Instructor, assists with the Adaptive Holy Yoga training, and runs the Holy Yoga Shop. She is a beloved daughter of the Most High Creator Father, grateful wife to her best friend Greg Hoyte, and mommy to her three biggest blessings this side of heaven. Amy and her family live outside Madison, WI.

Danette Galvis

Southwest Regional Director & Retreat Coordinator

Danette Galvis

Danette was introduced to yoga in 2002 when a co-worker invited her to a class.  She instantly fell in love with the practice  and the community!  After having a baby in 2007, she wanted to find a flexible position (pun intended) that would allow her to be at home & grow in her practice, so she completed a  200-hr training with a traditional yoga school.

While searching for Christian yoga in 2010, she came across Holy Yoga and knew this was the divine match she was looking for, thus beginning her journey of healing and recovery from long-term drug and alcohol abuse. Holy Yoga is what she calls her rehab and Danette became clean for the first time before heading to her immersion retreat!  She has known relapses and extended treatment, but the Holy Yoga community has never left her side. The love and support from THIS community drives Danette to serve others with a similar story.

She has completed the Masters, Kids, Touch, Therapy and Leadership trainings, and she’s incredibly honored to serve on staff as the Southwest Regional Director and Retreat Coordinator.

Danette has worked in real estate, another passion of hers, since 1995, working in sales, leasing, advertising and investment.  She lives in Dallas, TX, with her husband and daughter, Tesla, as well as three older step-children, Ashley, Michael Jr. and Trent.

Kara Ebbutt

Administration Support & Help Desk

Kara Ebbutt

The Lord dropped Holy Yoga into Kara’s lap in 2009 after many years of on/mostly-off practice; her mom was a yoga teacher back in the day, and Kara often vinyasa-ed as part of her dance education in high school and college.  After a hilarious, death-by-downdog, non-HY yoga retreat; a Spirit inspired gift (the book Holy Yoga); and a lovely chat with Brooke during afternoon carpool, Kara decided to have a go.  What she thought was a solid idea (and a way to prove to her friends that you can so do yoga and love Jesus) turned out to be the Lord’s plan to unveil her heart and set her on the path of peace.

By design, Kara is a teacher and an entertainer, a forever goofball and learner of all the things (except statistics – please no). A perennial student, she jumped right into further Holy Yoga trainings, getting certified in Holy Yoga Masters, Therapy, Leadership Development, Kids and Chair/Senior. She currently serves on the Soul Care team, with the retreat crew, and behind the scenes doing admin and documentation.

Kara lives just outside Portland, OR, with her husband, their two daughters, and three furry beasts.

Hope Stockman

Global Regional Shepherd

Hope Stockman

Hope comes to Holy Yoga so grateful to be a part of a community of hearts moving closely with the triune God. Hope spent most of her early career years working in the legal field with victims and perpetrators of abuse, drug addiction, and crime. During that time, she developed a heart for those who are struggling and in need of hope, encouragement and freedom.

In 2006, God opened doors for Hope and her husband to move to Shanghai, China. Trusting God’s leading, they packed two boxes and boarded the plane.  That time allowed Hope to serve the homeless of Shanghai, teach at a Chinese university, and adopt a beautiful daughter.  After returning back to Maryland in early 2015 to care for family, she was introduced to Holy Yoga and found a purpose, calling and community better than anything she ever dreamed.  Holy Yoga has opened new depths in her relationship with God and given her a family of faith that is full of love when she needs it most!

Hope loves connecting with people of all cultures and sharing Jesus’ truth, love and freedom in any way she can.  She has learned that following God’s plan offers a life of adventure, full of heartache and joy, and a path that is hardly ever the shortest distance between two points – just when you think you know where you’re headed, get ready for a turn!  Her heart’s desire is to always say “It is well with my soul.”

Hope lives in Aalborg, Denmark with her husband, daughter, and two four-legged friends.  She is relocating to Brussels, Belgium, by 2017.  Hope serves on the Soul Care team and teaches Holy Yoga classes anywhere and everywhere.

Brooke Thompson

Global Regional Shepherd

Brooke Thompson

Brooke was introduced to Holy Yoga when her sister-in-law invited her to a garage for some “yoga and worship.”  There she met Tasha Anderson. One month later, after feeling called by God, Brooke signed up for the instructor training program. She had only done yoga four times and was so scared, yet so assured God was inviting her to something beyond her wildest dreams.

Holy Yoga was the first place Brooke felt the Spirit so tangibly. Worship and communion were deeper on the mat. Her mind, body and heart were awakened in a new way.

Brooke now serves on Leadership at retreats leading small groups. She also serves on the Soul Care team. She finds the deepest joy encouraging sisters and brothers on their journeys. Brooke’s favorite thing is community, so loving on instructors in training is dream come true.

Brooke is a Master Holy Yoga Instructor, as well as Kids, Touch and Weight certified. Brooke lives in Ladera Ranch, California with her hubby and three daughters.

Midwest (IA, IL, IN, KS, MI, MN, MO, ND, OH, SD, WI )

Myreya Amezcua

Midwest Regional Director

Myreya Amezcua

Unique, fearlessly authentic and beautifully God-honoring is how Myreya describes her first encounter with Holy Yoga classes in 2011.  As a dedicated yogi, instructor and relatively new believer, she understood the profound impact of combining God’s Word with movement and breathwork.  However, something special about the Holy Yoga instructors compelled her to investigate further.  She enrolled in Holy Yoga 225 hour training in 2013 for what she thought would be a refresher Christian yoga course.  Little did she know she would be challenged to enter into a much deeper intimacy with God and others.  She is profoundly grateful for that gift.

As Myreya learned (and is still learning) to align her body, mind and spirit with God’s Truth and will, she experienced freedom and peace she had never known.  Today, Myreya is committed to advancing freedom in Christ for others as the founder of Holy Yoga Detroit, a nonprofit ministry with a mission to serve inner city children.

Myreya’s original quest for knowledge and experience still drives her, but it is balanced with her appreciation of Holy Yoga’s culture which builds encouraging, authentic community.  Currently serving as the Midwest Regional Director, she also has been certified in Kids, Baby and Toddlers, Plus, Yogalates, Touch, Masters, and Leadership Development.  Her two children are very supportive as is her mom, Paula, who is also Holy Yoga certified and heads up Holy Yoga Detroit’s Chair Yoga program.

Karen Fisk

Midwest Regional Shepherd

Karen Fisk

Karen first practiced yoga at a local YMCA over 40 years ago. At that time the substitute name for yoga was ‘stretching’ and the word ‘relaxation’ was used in place of meditation. It was then, during a ‘relaxation’ practice, she experienced a beautiful spiritual connection with Jesus and wished others could have the same experience. Fast forward 40 years, her lovely daughter-in-law introduced Karen to Holy Yoga and her world changed forever! Karen went through Holy Yoga Immersion in April of 2014. Following her immersion, she completed the Chair/Senior Program, the Masters Program, the Therapy Program and is now Regional Shepherd for the Midwest and part of the Soul Care Team. She’s passionate about sharing the benefits of Holy Yoga (body, mind, and spirit) with whomever she meets, whether it’s a family member, her local prayer group, her Bible study group, her doctor, her dentist, or her chiropractor.

Karen did her undergraduate studies at McKendree College. After working many years as a contractor, she retired as a Technical Engineer from Raytheon and lives in Edwardsville, Illinois with her husband (Tal), two dogs (Abby and Bogey) and one cat (Woody). Karen and Tal have five grown children and are blessed with thirteen grandchildren. She and her husband enjoy riding their bicycles on the local bike trails, riding their Harley just to get a bite to eat, cooking, gardening or reading a good book together, and holiday celebrations with the family.

Northwest (AK, HI, OR, WA) & Canada

Carrie Strachan

Northwest & Canada Regional Director

Carrie Strachan

Carrie is a 200 RYT and has been has been teaching yoga since 2006.  She was introduced to Holy Yoga in 2012 and completed her training in 2014.  Being a cardio junkie most of her life, for Carrie the physical benefits of yoga were immediate.  It was on her yoga mat that she began to feel fully alive and free, which began bubbling over into her life.  Her mat time became her alone time with God and He began a healing in her heart.  Carrie believes that God lead her to Holy Yoga to allow her to integrate her two passions, Jesus and yoga.

Carrie graduated with her BA from Pepperdine University, and worked in trust banking until becoming a full-time mom.  Having a child with special needs catapulted her into unexpected advocacy roles.  This new calling on her life revealed her love of people and heart caring. Carrie believes that we are all created with a deep desire to be seen, heard and fully loved, and that God has invited believers into this way of spreading His Gospel message.  Through Holy Yoga she gets to watch and witness as others come to know that they are seen, heard and fully loved by God, then see them live it out.

Carrie’s passion is coming alongside and encouraging hope.  She is honored to use these gifts to serve the Holy Yoga ministry as the NW Regional Director and with Leadership and Soul Care.  She has furthered her education in the Leadership, Therapy and Masters programs and continually learns humility from her yoga students on Bainbridge Island, WA.  She lives and parents together with her husband Marc of 23 years and is mom to four unique gifts from God.

Delainy Hagadorn Walker

West Regional Director

Delainy Hagadorn Walker

Delainy found Holy Yoga in 2008 while owning and operating a health club.  Overworked, over-stressed, and unable to find rest, she noticed her busy life was taking a toll on her physical and emotional well-being.  She found Holy Yoga to be an amazing gift of stress relief and balanced living.  The most rewarding aspect of Holy Yoga for her was finding rest.

In 2009, during her Masters training, she became ill from heavy metal poisoning and was bedridden for several months.  She found a deeper trust in Jesus and His healing through the breathwork, meditation, and rest of Holy Yoga.  This experience drew her deeper into Holy Yoga trainings including the Therapy program.

Delainy enjoys teaching and being a part of what our Creator is already doing; bringing healing and wholeness to His people through Jesus Christ. Her heart is to give others the opportunity to come into the present moment in His Presence — fully yoked in a heart of gratitude for the gift of life and abilities given.  As a wellness coach she helps others transform their lives through the healing power of Jesus.  Her yoga teaching style is a blend of intensity and fluidity balanced with rest, breathwork, and meditation: finding strength and grace as we relinquish pain, worry, and burden into the hands of Jesus.

Delainy currently teaches and trains in the greater Boise, Idaho, area and is honored to serve as part of Leadership and the Regional Director teams.

Southwest Regional Shepherd

Kerry Tomberlin

Kerry began practicing yoga in 2002, excited to find an exercise regimen she could do at home that didn’t leave her so sore she couldn’t walk the next day.  Nine years later, God opened the door for her to begin teaching at a local retirement community.  Her initial training was with YogaFit, but she later discovered Holy Yoga while surfing the internet and could not quiet her spirit to the call of combining Jesus and yoga. She got her Holy Yoga certification in 2012 and currently teaches both secular and Holy Yoga classes.

Kerry lives in the village of Bosque Farms, New Mexico, with her sweet husband and two teens. She’s drawn to the simple, country life and has converted the loft of her barn into a yoga studio, called Upper Room Yoga, where she teaches her friends and neighbors how to move, breathe and worship in mind, body and spirit.   If you come to her classes, you can hear the sounds of horses whinnying and catch a view of the Sandia mountains outside the window.

One of Kerry’s driving passions is teaching yoga to those who might be intimidated to come to a traditional class (those who are older or perhaps have some type of physical or spiritual trauma in their bodies).  She enjoys breaking down poses in such a way that any and every body can find success.  She works with Jonnie Goodmanson in the Holy Yoga Therapy program and comes alongside Christina Mroz in teaching the Chair/Senior Holy Yoga program.  She also works on the Soul Care team leading meditations, life groups and small groups at retreat.

Kerry loves to learn and has been blessed to be able to take several trainings with Holy Yoga, including Masters, Therapy, Chair, Touch, Yoga with Weights, and Leadership Development

She lives in Dallas, TX, with her husband and daughter, Tesla, as well as three older step-children, Ashley, Michael Jr. and Trent.

Jen Froning

Southeast Regional Director

Jen Froning

After the birth of her third son in 2004, Jen was tired and overwhelmed.  She began practicing yoga in search of solace as well as exercise!  The more she practiced yoga, the stronger she was feeling both physically and spiritually.  Still, she sought a deeper connection with Christ and wondered if there was anyone else out there practicing christian yoga.  After a Google search, determination, and lots of prayer, Jen stepped out of the boat and received her Holy Yoga certification in the spring of 2012.  She went on to receive her Holy Yoga Masters certificate, currently serves on the Leadership team and is the Southeast Regional Director.

Without reserve, Jen passionately lives to serve God through connecting the hearts of His people.   She currently lives in North Carolina with her husband Mark and their three sons.
